When should I book my newborn session?
It’s best to book during your second or third trimester to secure availability around your due date. Your final session date will be confirmed once baby arrives.
What is the best age for newborn photos?
Newborn sessions are ideally held within the first 5–14 days after birth, when babies are sleepier and easier to pose naturally.
What if my baby arrives early or late?
No problem at all — session dates can be adjusted once your baby is born.
How long does the session last?
Sessions typically last 2–4 hours to allow time for feeding, soothing, and keeping baby comfortable throughout.
Where does the session take place?
Sessions take place in my cosy home studio, where all props and surfaces are carefully cleaned and sanitised for baby’s comfort and safety.
What should my baby wear?
I provide wraps, blankets, bonnets, headbands, and outfits. Babies are usually photographed wrapped or in simple timeless styling.
What should parents and siblings wear?
Neutral and soft tones photograph best. Creams, whites, beige, soft grey, earth tones, and light pastels are recommended. Avoid bright colours, logos, and busy patterns.
Can parents and siblings be included?
Absolutely — family images are encouraged and often become treasured keepsakes. My Nuzzle and Cuddles Packages include a variety of family portraits.
How should I prepare my baby?
To help the session run smoothly:
Try to keep baby awake briefly before arrival
Feed baby just before the session
Dress baby in loose clothing
Bring extra nappies, bottles, wipes, and a dummy if used
What if my baby is unsettled?
That’s completely normal. Sessions are baby-led, with plenty of time for cuddles, feeding, and soothing breaks.
Is newborn posing safe?
Yes — your baby’s safety is always my top priority. All posing is done gently and safely with baby fully supported at all times.
Can I request specific colours or setups?
Of course. You’re welcome to share inspiration images, preferred colours, or themes before your session. I recommend choosing ideas from my portfolio so props are readily available.
What props are available?
My studio includes a variety of:
Wraps & blankets
Bonnets & headbands
Baskets, bowls & beds
Flowers & simple accessories
Can pets be included?
Depending on your pet’s size and temperament, this may be possible. Please discuss this with me before your session so we can plan safely.
When will we receive our images?
Final galleries are delivered within 7–10 days after you return your proof gallery selections.
How many images are included?
This depends on your chosen package:
Snuggle Package – 5 digital images
Nuzzle Package – 10 digital images + complimentary 5x7 prints
Cuddles Package – 15–20 digital images + complimentary keepsake album
What if we need to reschedule?
I understand that unexpected situations can arise with newborns. Rescheduling is available for illness, emergencies, or unforeseen newborn needs.
Do you retouch baby skin?
Yes — gentle retouching is included to soften flakes, scratches, redness, and temporary blemishes while keeping baby’s features natural.
Can older newborns still be photographed?
Absolutely. While the first two weeks are ideal for sleepy posed images, beautiful newborn portraits can still be captured at any age.
